Wreaths Across America
Wreaths Across America honors former military members by the placing evergreen wreaths on their grave across the country. Oakland Composite Squadron and Civil Air Patrol are central forces to the success of this program every year. CAP members solicit donations to fund the placing of several thousand wreaths at the Great Lakes National Cemetery located in Holly, Michigan.
This year’s wreath laying program will take place on Saturday, December 16. Everyone is invited to join us in recognizing the brave men and women who gave so much for this country and help place wreaths during the morning and participating in the memorial ceremony at noon. We will never forget.
The following morning CAP members will meet with their counterpart of Canadian Air Cadets at the international border on the Ambassador bridge and place wreaths of remembrance and friendship on the line separating and joining the United States and Canada. (Due to space limitations on the bridge, this ceremony cannot be attended by all those who would like but is featured in news reports from CBC television and other media outlets.)
It’s never to early to sponsor a wreath for Wreaths Across America.
